How to Hide the WooCommerce Shop Page

Once you install WooCommerce in order to offer payable events, the slug /shop always leads to the shop page (see WooCommerce documentation).
If you do not need a shop page, for example because you only want to sell events on your website, you may want to hide your shop page completely. To prevent users and search engines from accessing the shop page, you can set up a redirect to your event overview as follows. There are many options to set a redirect, for example in the .htaccess file, through a plugin or maybe your hosting provider offers such a functionality.
