Types of Events
In this post, we’ll walk you through:
Cevento allows you to create three types of events:
- Single Event
- Recurring Event
- Repeated Event
You can create the first two yourself. Events called Repeated Event are automatically created by Cevento according to the Schedule defined in the Recurring Event.
Single Event
A single event can span one or multiple days. You can set the start and end of the event and also enable bookings for this event.
Example use cases
- an opening celebration
- a workshop with a limited number of participants
- a concert with an external ticket link
You can add and manage single events in the WordPress dashboard under Cevento → All Events.
Recurring Event
A practical advantage of Cevento is that you can easily create Recurring events. These events are assigned a Schedule. Based on the recurrence patterns and time frames defined in the Schedule, Cevento automatically creates individual events. This makes it possible to repeat an event daily, weekly, or monthly within a specific timeframe. You can also enable bookings by users for these events.
Example use cases
- an online lecture taking place every Tuesday and Thursday
- a dance class held every Wednesday of the third week of each month
- an open mic event every third Thursday of the month with limited audience seats
- a film screening held every day for two weeks, both in the morning and afternoon, offering standard and VIP seats
You can add and manage these events in the WordPress dashboard under Cevento → Recurring Events.
Repeated Event
Each Recurring Event automatically creates individual events called Repeated Event according to the defined Schedule. In the WordPress dashboard under Cevento → All Events, you will find these events marked with the note “Repeated Event”.
Each of these events is managed by the Recurring Event and cannot be edited individually within it. If you want to detach a single Repeated Event from the Schedule and the management of the Recurring Event, you can find instructions here.
